Rick and I got on the water around 6:00am. It was in my quest to find a top water bite. Therefore we moved around a lot till we found one. I’m guessing that we caught somewhere around fifteen bass on the top water bait, nine on plastic and three on cranks. I myself didn‘t have any luck cranking, but Rick sure did.
Over all we had fun. We put twenty seven bass in the boat with only three under slot fish. The rest were nice fat healthy fish that pulled like crazy. My stomach is sore from fighting those fish, but it‘s well worth it, that I know. About half of our catch was real dark colored bass. These fish have been staying deep.
The plastic bite was in the timber, and deeper water. Now there was a shallow bite, but it only produced dinks for us, so we stayed in the deeper water.
The crank bait bite was in the timber area.
The top water bite took place in several good locations, but I won’t be disclosing this info. Sorry
This one hit a top water bait. It was somewhere in the four and a half to five pound range, not real sure because I never got my scale out.

And of course you can see what this one hit because it’s still hooked in its mouth. I’m guessing somewhere in the lower four pound range.
