Zona is absolutely obnoxious. To most old school fisherman he represents the change in bass fishing from a leisure pastime into a NACSAR/WWF "sport". Sad indeed.......

If you like his show and find him funny, good for you. Some folks just don't think the same way but that doesn't make them wrong.

I don't think anyone is upset...I'm not. I was just stating why I like him. Certainly to each his own. I know I tend to get a little too serious especially when I'm not getting fish in the boat. Watching that goofy guy reminds me to keep my perspective.

More like a circus act than a fishing show....just like a couple on tour to get attention.

If thats what folks like to watch have at it....just not for me.

A few that are on Outdoor Network. You can call and get it for 3 bucks a month though. That's what I did. Everything else is on VS (NBC Sports Channel now) and Sportsmans channel.

Love Zona by the way. I understand he's not everyone's cup of tea.

Exactly......DRAMA. The masses obviously like drama and overacting. An instructional show would be of much more interest to me.

Zona does give instruction- the lesson is how to have fun and not take yourself or the 'sport' of fishing too seriously!

hmmm He showed what he was seeing on his side imaging, his depth finder with the depths, he showed what lures and colors he was fishing, and did an animation of their jig retrieve. I guess having the exact coordinates would of been even more helpful for those that need more instuctions.

He's guy simply likes to have fun bass fishing but he has made some serious money in the FLW doing it as well(some of yall probably didn't even know that). He drove all the way to Falcon from Michigan to film and enjoy some time on a phenomenal fishery. I admire the fact that he wanted James Overstreet to get a chance to catch a fish of a lifetime and that was what this particular show was really all about.

I cannot believe that nobody is pissed off that he was keeping the big fish. I dont have a problem with someone keeping some smaller fish, but the big females need to go back in. Great show but you dont see him doing that in his northern waters.

He kept them for photos, and he let them go. I do not believe he killed them.

What Buda said. My favorite fishing show on TV. The wife and kids watch it with me. We all have a good laugh.

I totally agree. My twin brother who hates when I watch fishing shows will watch this one with me if its on. It is just good entertainment. Zona seems like a really good guy and I think this show is great for the sport. As for him being high strung all the time...He admits often to pounding 5HR Energies. Hes not putting on an act. It is just his personality.

I dont see why you guys say there is too much acting going on in Zona's show. The guy is being himself. There is no doubt the guy is nutty but everyone in the boat with him seems to have the time of their life.

IMHO, watching Wilcox is like watching paint dry.

Never saw him, don't get cable. Did a search, found his website and found some clips so I could get a taste and decide for myself. He was not 'over the top' to me, but then again, I'm as goofy as they get in excitement over bass fishing, so don't go by me. I enjoyed the tips on what they used and how they used it, never saw that on any other show.

Link to clips follow on my next post...

Zona's Awesome Fishing is the best show on TV. His made up words and sayings are great. Zona and Ike are my favorite TV Fisherman. I read Ike's book "Fishing on the Edge". It explains why he is that way. He is trying to sell himself. And being "over the top" helps him stand out from others. Zona and Ike no how to sell themselves and it got the their own TV shows. Like them or not, They get paid to Fish everday. Just my thoughts.
