I hate people that have no regard for the laws of the State of Texas and/or these United States of America.

The ones with repeated violations are really at the top of my list.

Well then you must REALLLLLY hate me then.

While I have no problem with the concept of rule of law; the current situation in Texas, and the US is totally intolerable. There are so many statutes, regulations, and ordinances that no one even remotely has a handle on even half of them. What Texas, and America need is a MAJOR spring-cleaning when it comes to laws eliminating 85% to 95% of them.

Government is totally out of control and is passing ever more laws that are primarily designed to, by hook or crook, reach into the private business of the individual, and into their pocketbooks.

Nothing would please me more than the impeachment of every judge, and DA in Texas.

Contact your local Representative or Senator.

I'm sure they will listen to you and jump right on that.

Soggy, you must realize its all about money. They have to invent ways to get into your wallet every chance they get.Smart people who value their money don't give them any chances.Bottom line, follow the letter of the law, don't take chances and save money!!

You folks must realize that peoples $$$ is about the only deterrent to crime/breaking laws don't you? Most People don't speed because they don't want to pay a fine....not because they want to drive safely...

Im not sure exactly how this system works and I have never heard of this "SURCHARGE POINT SYSTEM" until 2010. I asked a rep of the DPS where the money goes and what it is used for when I pay this surcharge. She responded saying 45.6% goes to a trauma center. HUH? Like JPS? The other half of the percentage goes to I dont know cause I was distracted by Day 2 of the Bassmasters Classic Tourney at the Delta. And 1% goes to administration fees. Next question was when did this start? She replied 2003. She also said its going to make drivers "better drivers" because they will know that they have to pay this kind of fee every year for 3 years if they receive citations . hmmm Just a warning to all.. It Sucks!!!!

My $100 Radar detector has probably saved me $5K in Tickets. Unfortunately there is a new type out there called "Lidar" that it doesn't work on. It cost me $100 in LA. The next one I buy will be a more high dollar unit.

I can't even remember the last time I had a traffic ticket. It has been at least 35-40 years since I had one. I do remember the last time I was stopped but the DPS officer did not give me a ticket. wink
