Going to fish in the rain in the morning and was wondering how fishing has been? Catching any good numbers or has it been slow? What bait works best for you in the rain?

couple weeks ago a wacky worm was the ticket in shallow calm creek channel water. the bite was super soft though... but fun!

last weekend was tough for everyone we talked to but we ended up catching 4 total biggest being a 5 pounder and a few 3s. However that was a bluebird day. I would go with a fluke or frog or spinnerbaits probably

Except for a couple of the regulars, to say it has been tough would be an understatement. It has been crowded too with several blue bird days. I wish I could go tomorrow. Weather might keep the crowd home and lots of clouds. My only fish have come out of the reeds. I saw one of those regulars wearing them out on a hump in about 15' of water one day also. I haven't found a patch of grass bigger than my back deck either.

I had 15 last Sunday on DD22's. The bite picked up in the afternoon once all the boat traffic died down. I didn't catch anything shallower than 12'. The biggest was 4#'s.

Fished last Saturday - Morning bite was real slow - picked up after lunch - Too many boats running all over - Had my best luck on flats off points wormin in 7 to 10 feet of water around submerged stumps - caught 7 decent slot fish after lunch but biggest was only about 4 and a half - All the traffic has them hugging the bottom or holding in deeper water - pulled the boat out about 3:30 and went home. Tomorrow in the rain might be pretty good (less boats more, options on where to fish)
