Guys,

I've tried:

Gamakatsu Heavy Cover Flippin' Hook
http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Gamakatsu_Heavy_Cover_Flippin_Hook_4pk/descpage-GHCF.html

and the black piece always comes loose or slides down the hook. It is very poorly made. The hook is a good Gammy but the build quality of the materials overall is not good because it does not function properly after a couple fish... With that said, what do you guys think of that one versus the below two from Strike King and Lazer Trokar?

Strike King Hack Attack Heavy Cover Flipping Hook

Lazer Trokar Flippin Hook

Saw the Strike King version the other day and will try them out. The Trokar flippin' hook is bad to the bone though, I have a lot of faith in it. Plus, they just dropped the prices on all their hooks.

I would suggest you trying some Custom and Hand Tied Jigs. Their is no rubber piece to fall and jigs will last you a whole lot longer.

Good Luck

I like the Trokar for flipping. Either that or the Owner EWG.

trokar... but check the tip of your hook after EVERY hang up.. especially rocks and petrified wood! LOL! they are so needlepoint fine, that they will roll if you force them into a solid mass.

Reaction Innovations BMF!

Snell the hook and use a hitchhiker to hold your bait and that slipping problem will go away, no plastic piece needed.

I don't know if they quit making them or what, if you find them you should try 'em, and let me know if you find some!!

Bmf was a bad dude. Trokars are sharp but weak. I have bent them out setting the hook on fish. Their swimbait hook i have had straighten out on two pound fish. In my opinion way overpriced. Sharp yes strong far far from it. For strength owners hands down. And the Bmf if you can find em have serverd me quite well.

I went thru many hooks looking for the best, and finally settled on the Gamakatsu SP11 3L 3H.
It is actually a saltwater Salmon fly hook.
2/0 is comparable to a regular 4/0 freshwater bass hook, and the 3/0 is comparable to a 5/0 bass hook.
You have to order them, and they're shiny, but a dip in liquid plumber tarnishes them to an acceptable level of grey.
I've never flexed one of these hooks.

Anyone else care to 'weigh in'? Also, I like the look of these, but wouldn't this setup prevent the t-rigged bullet weight from being flush to the bait?

http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Owner_Twistlock_Flippin_Hook/descpage-OTFH.html

I love Owner Hooks but I don't see a reputable flippin' hook from them yet...

I gave in and bought a pack of Trokar Flippin' Hooks in the 6/0 size today. If I like them I think I will load up on them for cheap through the PAA program.

Eagle Claw, eh... I mean Trokar, will open up and the point will definitely collapse on impact with jawbone. I like the Gambler KO hook and the Strike King.

I trust your judgement so I will be skeptical to say the least that they are all that.

Strike King / Hack Attack is a beast. I have used both Trokar and Strike King and I prefer the Strike King.
