I'm going to Tyler for the first time on Monday the 6th. I need some info on where to put in, and general areas to fish. Thanks in advance for any help.

Put in at hill creek. Look for brush piles in front of boat houses. Also key in on brush or structure on ledges. Square bills.

Would this be on the West or East Lake?? I haven't fished the West side before.

East or west. Both are good. Typical stage areas. Points, brush and creeks.
Work area thoroughly! I caught some with bloody tails today. Won't be long.

Rattle Traps over grass, silver and black, east lake...

Look for docks with grass in front in about 3-8 ft of water...

I could be wrong but I think Hill Creek is the only ramp open. Its on the old lake and is just outside of Whitehouse. Where to fish, I dont know. I have fished that lake many times and never had any success. Good luck!

When I was there about 2 weeks ago the marina could be launched out of but there was hardly any water. Just a very small channel to navigate from what I could tell. Hill Creek had enough to do what ya needed to. I would launch there

What is this grass stuff you speak of?? LOL

There is a little grass but not like it was. Should be good after spring... Wish the lake would come up another foot or 2 at least..

My concern with Hill Creek ramp is my truck got broken into TWICE,(and a buddy's also), it was a year ago but soured me on it. It's a shame because it's a good ramp.

I don't think you will have that problem currently. That ramp is the most popular one to use when the lake is low, so that helps keep the thieves away. The thieves are around when the lake is full and there is less traffic at that ramp.

Only grass i have found on East lake is only about 6 inches long on bottom but at least thats a good sign. There are Coots on the East side milling around so they are eating something.
