Orvis tent sale on Wonderlines. Sinking lines and bass lines as cheap as $17 (vs $79 retail). I bought some two weeks ago at $23 and considered it a good deal. Now even cheaper.

How would I go about finding these lines online? I looked at Orvis' website and couldn't find a clearance section. I sure could use a couple 8wt sinking as well as a Leviathan in a 10wt. Who knows might even pick up some 6wt sinking if they have it.

How would I go about finding these lines online? Go to "orvis.com" and select the "Sale" section. The lines Mick referred to have been in the "Tent Sale" section, but they've had several other lines listed in their clearance section recently.

Thanks, Rex! Us old guys sometimes need interpreters to help us refine what we say into something helpful for others.
Those are great lines at unbeatable prices if there are any left in stock.

I am a young guy and for some reason couldn't find the Sale tab (might have been a little drunk last night). I picked up a couple of depth charge lines, watch out tarpon.

How do you guys feel about that sinking line...I was thinking about getting the class III for a 6 wt. streamer/clouser combo, but I'm still pretty naive about sinking line.

How do you guys feel about that sinking line...I was thinking about getting the class III for a 6 wt. streamer/clouser combo, but I'm still pretty naive about sinking line. I have a Class III sink tip line coupled with a furled leader, and flurocarbon tippet for nymphs and streamers. The sink tip line will settle to a depth of 3' to 5' depending upon the swiftness of the water. The line does everything that I expect it to do. Fluorocarbon has an advertised density slightly greater than 1.0 which is the density of water, and it will sink.

I was just about to buy it when I found some of the Hydros Depth Charge 200 grain line for sale on ebay, 25 bucks. Couldn't pass it up, knowing how great that line is.
I've heard this would get the job done, but coils pretty bad.

Looking to get a sink tip for the MINIMAG . I like the 4 foot short tip. Other thought is SA 26foot streamer express.

FYI, Orvis is taking an additional 20% off their sale prices for "President's Day". They still have a good selection of lines available.
Sierra Trading Post just added some Simms, Ross, and Dr Slick products.
Looks like now is the time to watch the clearance sections.

Picked up a Scientific American Mastery Streamer Express line for $23 and a Teeny T-300 line for $30, both from Cabela's in Allen.

Probably an eight weight. I have an eight weight Sage TCR that is stiff enough to throw a 350 gr Streamer Express line (after Steve Hollensed showed me how to cast it on Texoma one day), so I could use that or a seven or eight weight Sage Xi2. I'll also give my 8wt Helios a try, though it was a bit whippier than I expected when I used it on salmon in Alaska last August. The Teeny T-300 box says it is for use with rod weights 7 thru 10, so I might just give all of them a try and see what works best. Those things are hard to lawn cast, though, so I might have to go fishing with it to give it a good test.

Well, then I may have to come fish with you in Athens or on Caddo so you can see it first hand.
