Shimano or Abu Garcia

Shimano. I've never been impressed with abu anything. That's my opinion and I'm sticking with it.

Shimano; but I do have a Revo Winch, and it's pretty sweet.

Shimano. Been fishing them so long, don't make sense to change over.

5500c3 is a great carolina rig reel

I have nothing but revo reels and I won't be buying a shimano anytime soon.

I roll with all revo used to be a shimano guy, but the Revo's are the way to go I think.

I like the older Ambassadeur reels. But in anything made in the 21st century, I like Shimano. It's hard to beat a Citica for the price. I bought a few Revos a couple years ago based on the luck I'd had with Ambassadeurs, and have since sold them all in favor of the Citicas.

I have fished Shimanos for the last 15 years but in my opinion their quality has gone so far down in the last three years that I am looking for a new reel to fish. I bought 4 of the new Quantum EXO PT reels and four of the new Lews tournament grade reels to try. So far they are a toss up as to which I like best. The Lews is a little more user friendly so far as to not having to completely remove the side plate to adjust the mag brakes. If you are as clumsy as I am you know that sooner or later that side plate is going to end up in the lake. The weight is very comparable The EXO weighs 5.9 oz and the Lews I think weighs 6.1 oz. Also the msp on the Quantum is 250.00 versus the Lews at 200.00. Of course this is just my opinion so take that for what it is worth. Hope this helps.
