yes I felt good getting fish big enough to eat my hooks, I use like a size 6 or 8 so normally the fish I catch are at least 12 inches. The filet on this fish has the yellow at the top, It is the best fish I ever ate hands down. I threw these back but I usually cook 10 or 20 at a time. 6 12 inch catfish is about 1 pound of filets. To me there is no comparison I have only cooked the blue catfish a couple times and I didn't like it very much.

I wasnt dogging him - he caught 4 more than I have last few trips- them channels look skinnier than normal to me........Look at the ones tail - twice size of.his body.....maybe blues get fat in winter and channels get skinny?

I saw another guy said he caught 65 blues and 2 channel cats. Next time I go Im gonna use 6 different types of baits at the same time since I have a boat load of rods and reels... I felt Lucky yesterday I think thats why I gottem. A little off topic but I went to the bar afterwards and I guess the bouncer knew I had been out fishing all night because he wouldn't even let me in! If that guy reads this I hope he knows the cops in the parking lot saved him.

D.C.M. thats about normal for a channel cat unless its in the summer time they get bloated and i mean bloated with shad like those things will be bigger around then they are long
