Lake Waco is an excellent Catfish lake. If your not local the best places are up in the mouth of creeks on the north end of the lake, a good windy point close to deeper water. Twin Bridges area going towards Woodway often produce under the bridges in and along the river channels. Good Luck, I miss that lake. fish

Precaite the advice, Im a student at tstc. Lived in waco for about a year now. Best spot I know i dont know the actual name of the spot but its where mclaughlin rd ends up in the lake.
there's a camp site and the road, fish the road early mornin for crappie and bass. Camp is made up of a concrete picnic table sittin' under a giant oak tree, a make shift fire pit, and smooth level ground all along the waters edge. There's room to pitch a tent but only one can right next to the lake. There's space for at least 4 fishermen w/ 3 rods each line the bank, on camp side.
Or you can fish along the road. The road forms a peninsula that is lined with light brush and trees awesome for crappie, an ends with an immediate drop-off about 8-12ft deep "The channel". Other side of the lake is speegleville park.
Take hwy6, past twin bridges and the park...down the road youll see an over pass with a gas station on either side of the hwy, exit there for the gas station(both sell live an frozen bait). Turn right and then drive until you hit mclaughlin road, take a right, follow it until it dead ends in the lake.

old speagleville 2 park, the name has changed but in rv spot 19 the river channel bends into the cliff right at the rv spot, you can catch some hellacious cats from that spot. I go there every year 20 times or more to camp and catch cats.
