New to crappie fishin' and hear that lake granger is a good place for crappie. Anyone ever fished there and know any good jigs or bait that they hit there?

Granger is full of crappie. But the best bait varies with the day. Minnows and the old standby chartreuse hair jigs are as good a place as any to start. You can get minnows at the Circleville store. The only ramp open right now is Taylor park.

I would suggest that you head further upriver right now. The flooded timber you are talking about is real shallow water. Good when the spawn starts but we are not there yet. Night time has the best bite right now. Not many fish being caught during the day. Check the map on this site for access to river fishing spots from the bank.

Just a group of fishermen/women that fish Granger. We have our own website. Lot of good info that gets put out as far as fishing reports, not only crappie, but white bass, catfish and hunting too. We hold fishing tournies as well as volunteer for lake cleanup days. It is a great way to connect with other anglers and hunters in the Granger area. Check it out. All the info I can give you now. Headed to the lake for a night crappie fishing trip.

If you want to fish from the bank you can go to the slough area in wiillis creek park, fish with minnors or a white jig yellow head, Good luck!
