I love to fish for them fishes... Never been to that lake, I live 20 minutes from texoma. I catch them all the time at Texoma right outside of grandpappy marina in that area. Im going out with my dad in his boat so he can play with his SI unit while i fish for those SMB.

I have only caught two from grapevine...both about 3 months ago. One was caught on a sexy melon square bill, and the other was caught on a white spook. water conditions are very different from when I caught them though. Both caught from rocky ledges across the lake from katies woods ramp. hope this helps.

I've caugth LMB off the rip at the dam on crankbaits and the points your talking about across from Katties Wood but no Smalls. Have you had any luck with Grubs?

I never go looking for smallies...I'm always searching for the LMB's. I rarely use grubs unless im using them as a trailer on somthing. I have fished the rip rap alot, but only caught sandies and larges there. Havent been to grapevine in over a month...fishing was really tough last couple times I went.

I caught two 17" fish, one early Dec the other a couple weeks later. Both came off of big rocks. One on white spinnerbait, other on Bandit 200 in splatterback. Best thing is fish for LMB and you may luck into a smallie.

I have caught 4 in the last year or so but never targeted them. Just fish for LMB and eventually you will catch a Smallie. All of mine caught on north side in rocky areas on either Pop'Rs, Crankbaits, or soft plastics like a Baby Brush Hog. Keep fishing near rocky points and you will eventually get bit by a Smallie

I've caught 6 or 7 in the last year. They are showing up a lot more. Biggest was almost 2.5 lbs. Go fishing for blacks and you'll catch one.

Target rocks in the spring or any gavel bottom you can find. they should be on a jerkbait bite right about now down there. both hard and soft.

Try a 4" Kitech drop shot sexy shad color along the deep rocky points and bluffs. Moved here from upstate NY, and this will work.

I have fished that lake for the last 30yrs and have never caught one. It's predominantly a largemouth lake but I know there are some in there.

Good luck
