Put in at Trophy Club Park, ran all the way to the Blue Hole
today by boat.

Water was choc milk colored except where the feeder creeks
feed in.

Water temp was 58 deg xcept the feeder creeks temp went
up to 60.

Saw NO BANK FISHERMEN at all.

Fished 2-3 hrs and got 1 bite. Was using 2 1/2in sassy shad
and 1/8 oz white or yellow road runners.

If we don't get washed out with rain this weekend the water
clarity should be much better soon.
Saw several areas where fish were striking the surface.
I am sure they were not gar as I saw several of those too.

The areas were west of the 377 bridge but not quite to the
Bluehole. The fish were striking whatever was being swept upstream
in the swirl in the sharper bends of the creek.

How do you get to the trophy club ramp. I ask as my GPS is not updated to the new roads in trophy club and I can't seem to find it.
Thanks

Are we talking about Denton Creek here? or Marshall Creek? And where/what is the "Blue Hole"?

33.025882, -97.179801 are the coordinates of the boat launch at Marshall Creek Park. That is the only ramp I know of in TC. I assume the coordinates above are for the "Blue Hole".

Sorry, but the original posting has me confused. "Put in at Trophy Club, ran all the way to the Blue Hole." I originally assumed the OP was on foot since we are on the Bank Fishing forum, but if we are talking about the boat launch I referenced, that is a long haul. But also wondering, can you get a boat from TC to the west side of 377?

Yes, you can if the water level is high enough. And you also need to be very familiar with the creek. There are several big underwater tree stumps along the way.
I have been to the hole by my small boat and I have seen many large bass boat and some times speed boat up there while bank fishing.
I was near the hole last year bank fishing. One family with 2 kids on an alumina aluminum(duck) boat passed by. I told them that the water was pretty shadow further down and they better stop here and turn around but the father would not listen to me. Within 10 minutes, the boat returned with cloud on every face. I asked him what happened, he said "I am really not in a mood to talk". I said to myself "yeh, f**k you idiot, told you to turn back". The engine was total blown, lower unit was barely off and the transom was damaged. That was a good laugh for rest of season last year.

Shallow is not a problem as I would be "yakking it". As I said ... that's a "far piece" from the TC boat ramp. I will be checking it out, but off the top of anyone's head, is it possible to safely and securely park a truck here?

Or anyplace else that one might put in a yak in this area?

Trophy Club now owns the park you are talking about,
I think it was called Marshall Creek park at one time.

http://www.trophyclubpark.org/boat_launch_and_boat_ramp

I usually post here about DENTON CREEK because so many
bank fisherman fish it perhaps they would like a
current fishing report. And I do pick up fisherman off
the bank on occasion because I don't like to fish
alone. Especially when it's cold out. Nice to have
someone help my fat arse back in the boat if I fall
out. grin

Sorry for the confusion.

Yes... I was able to get past the 377 bridge easily and
all the way to where Heneretta Creek dumps into
Denton creek (known by locals as the BlueHole).

Some of the sandbars have shifted a bit with the big
rain we had a few weeks ago. I did run aground a few times
and had to probe for deeper water.

That submerged prop/foot eating tree has shifted a
little bit further downstream of the old dam.
I fish from a 17ft alum boat and usually just bounce off
the underwater hazards easily. But that submerged tree
is gonna eat a few more props and lower units again this
year too.

So if you see me puttering alone up the creek, give a shout
out and U may score a free ride and a day of boat fishing. I usually
carry at least 1 extra life jacket just in case.

I used to bank fish it all the time. Parking in some pull
off areas along hwy 377. With all the chatter on here
about broken windows and cops writing tickets I stopped.

There is a way to reach the creek by going thru NW airport
and gaining access to private property (with permission)
of the folks running that clay pit behind the airport.

A bucket of chicken and 6pk of coke scored me a entire
yr of access years ago. Just had to be out by 6p when they
locked the gate. Dunno if the same folks are still running
it anymore or not.

Thanks for the info!! This time of year, I put in at the TC (Marshall Creek) boat ramp almost exclusively during the week as I can get there and get on the water and have a little time to fish/paddle before dark. But getting that far upstream from the boat ramp and having some time to actually fish would be much more of an "all day affair" as opposed to something possible to do after work. The location you suggested cuts down the paddling time quite a bit!

I was thinking about this spot as well you will have to carry your yak to the creek
and your fishing gear but I think under the bridge you would be able to launch.
Parking has not been a problem for me last year at this spot.
They changed the parking lot so that it is easy to drive into before I was glad to have my truck.

If you dont mind carrying your yak from the parking lot down to the creek you should have no problem getting into it from 377. From there it would be about a 3 mile paddle to the blue hole.

I am going out there again today just to see how everything looks will let everyone know how it goes.
