Grandma used to do that with a lot of the venison we shot. Best way to use the "steaks", they're just too dry otherwise.

My wife makes an awesome chicken fried venison when we have the meat. Nothing better with mashed potatoes and okra with peppers.

They don't even come out dry using ground venison
