I've been waiting to hear from JR on a trip for over a month now, must be a busy man! Anyone know if Mr. Haggler uses a bird on his boat and gives instructional guided trips?

I am not sure if JR is guiding right now. He is a great guide on Ivie. Mr. Hagler is working in Haskel at the moment, not sure if he is booking trips. If you cant get intouch with these two give Jeff Walker a call. 325-636-3087 or 325-357-4766. I know he is booking trips and has fished Ivie for many years. Although I will warn you, Ivie has been very slow..tough, tough!

JRs boat has been in the shop and his wife had a baby also a short stay in hosp so I would say he has been busy. I am not sure about Tommy he had said something about being tied up for a while on another job.

I received a job offer from a company that's building a new school building. The job offer was way, way too good to turn down. So, my guiding will be limited to weekends until after the first of July. With our putting on the WTTT tournaments and trips I already have booked, I'm burning two candles at both ends. smile I had to give up fishing FLW also. I'm having serious withdrawals with my not being on the water all the time. smile smile smile

I handed all my clients for this Spring to Jeff Walker. This is his 19th year of full time guiding on Ivie. If you want to book a guide for Ivie, you had better book quick! Jeff's filling up fast! He's a great guy to learn from and you will enjoy your day on the water with him.

Thanks for the compliments everyone.

hmmm I've heard JR is working in the oilfield mudlogging. So his days of guiding or fishing will be few and far between.

You heard wrong...

I am going to be doing limited guiding for a couple companies that keep me busy and do my normal charity stuff. I'm not going to kill myself tryig to fish every day like I did last year. So I will have limited openings targeting trophy fish for return folks.

I would recommend you give Jeff Walker a call about next week.

As mr dixon stated fishing is really slow and you will mainly be fishing for one big bite.

Thank all of y'all for the input, I'm sure all of the options are very good guides. I gave Jeff a call and look forward to fishing with him soon.

Figures it slow. Our club tourney is there next weekend. Maybe fishing will pick up before then with this warming trend.

I looked at weather for Ballinger next week & starting tuesday every day is mid to upper 60's with lows in lower 40's. But who knows with weathermen, especially a week away.
