What is the best bass rig to use when fishing in winter ? Or just your preference?

Jigs and pig! jigs and pig! Just bought me two more!! I think they are the best winter bait ever. Just let them bounce along the bottom and wham a fish takes it.

Depends on what and where you're fishing. Jigs work great, yes, but definately not the best for certain situations. Drop shots work great this time of year, and I catch a fair amount of fish on a weightless 7" senko. Apply your favorite techniques and just slow them down. WAY down.

Jig or if your on a lake like Rayburn you can beat the banks with a swim jig all year.

If the lake has grass a rattle trap can be killer and you don't have to slow down most of the time.

If its a highland lake with clear water and rock, a jig, suspending jerkbait, or a crankbait.

If its a shallow stained lake, a spinnerbait with an indiana blade or a jig.

Really the lake and cover will dictate what the best or most efficient bait will be.

Jerkbait-suspending,crankbaits and jigs all on rocks and brushy stick ups. Bounce the baits on everything you can under the surface to get the reaction strikes.

At least thats my favorite way to fish in the winter, but not always the most successful.

Jig. Weedless or other wise. Most versitile bait in the boat in my opinion.
