I'm staying here in Port Isabel without a boat and was wondering when the Bull Reds begin their run here and where I might go to try to catch one while bank/surf fishing.
fish
Will be leaving here the middle of March and staying a month in the Corpus area...will I have a better chance of catching one there? hmmm

Thanks Acoustic Tennis, for some reason I was under the impression it was in the spring sometime. Thank you for taking the time to answer my question. I will remember that it is in November from now on.

You can still catch them.
Use a chunk of mullet the size of a cigarette pack on a 10-12 circle hook on a dropper rig. (bottom fishing) Even better is a 3-5 inch live mullet.

I would just love to feel the run of a huge fish and maybe even invite it to dinner

If its big fish you want you can try jetties or ICW with sealice or crab for some Big Uglies
