I went to cleburne last friday and visabilty was zero which I expected because it had only been a couple days since the rain. Went to a pond yesterday where the water clarity is about the same as most area lakes and it was still very muddy. How long does it take for the water to clear up after a big rain like we had?

Get ready for spring.. cleburne will stay muddy for the most part with the most clear water by the dam and in the pads if the water is up there and if they come in. More rain means more muddy water.

Just got back into fishing last summer. Hadnt fished any muddy water til last week. Any tips on what they might hit? What hard baits and plastics? Also colors? thanks

Muddy = Black/blue and Junebug will probably be most productive. As far as lure selection, I'll leave that one up to you. smile

I really like a black and chart Colorado blade spinnerbait in any grass there. A crank on the rocks is always good. If its muddy try a bluegill or chart sexy shad. Muddy water heats up faster also this time of year moving baits could be good. Down by 67 where the muddiest water is a blacke and blue brush hog will work on the trees.

It will take 2 weeks with lots of sunshine for the water to begin to clear. Each lake is different. The ones with vegitation will clear faster. You will still have to hunt for the clear areas in major lakes in two weeks. Ponds will clear a little faster.
Lures discussed above are great for these conditions.
