Looking at getting out tomorrow in the rain and was thinking about launching at Caney Creek. Is it ok to use now with recent rains or what would you all recommend? Thanks.

Cassell Boykin is more friendly... you have to drive the rear wheels of a truck down the ramp, climb out the window of the truck, step on toolbox to launch. I would recommended Cassell unless you have a partner to help at Caney.

Caney was better when the lake was at 13ft. low. When it gets better I will report.

Caney sucks especially if your alone. Powell, Humphrys, Twin Dikes, Cassel Boykin, Jackson Hill, I seen a boat launch at the one up in Five Fingers dont know the name of that one though.

You can launch at Caney ramp but it's flat at the end and you have back a long way in the water. If you are with someone you are fine but if you are by yourself you will have fo get wet.

Not sure about Mill Creek but it should be getting close. I drive by there everyday and will swing in a check if I have a chance. Need the rain tomorrow to keep the lake rising. Most ramps are ok once we get to 156 and above.

im pretty positive mill creek is usable again. i heard they dug out a ditch all the way out of the cove so you could launch and that was about 3 weeks ago before the lake came up some.

I know flatbottoms are putting in at Monterey again and I heard of one guy putting his fiberglass rig in there. Its iffy but if we get 8 inches or so with this rain it will for sure be doable.

Five fingers is good at 8' low and is free and maintained. Jackson Hill and Powell Park are good at 13.5' low not free and maintained. Harvey creek is steep just not good when the wind is out of the north west, not maintained. Harvey creek looks like an abandoned place with holes in the road and tree limbs laying in the road. I use Five Fingers the most, it is well sheltered and you can fish in there out of the wind.

It is just 9.8' low now and rising.
