The saying is that being a single parent of a child or multiple children is hard. It is not easy. The single parent has to work harder, gets less sleep, etc because of the responsibilities it takes to provide for a child/children as one person.

I want to hear some hard stories. Are you a single parent or were you raised by a single parent? What were some of the sacrifices you had to make?

I think teenagers having children, then having the grandparents have to take care of the kids kid is deplorable. I blame the grand parents for doing it as much as I blame the unprepared or unfit mother/father. In today's age children having children and then having someone else take care of that child because they are lazy, or unmotivated or simply just not made to take on any responsibility is the downfall of our society! Heaven forbid we make someone work hard or face consequences.

This cradling your child or adult child scene that is now taking place makes me sick!

Isn't children having children, also the fault of said grandparents...AT LEAST partially.

Kids don't grow up to be honest, hard-working, and self sustaining members of society by osmosis...

i cant begin to imagine! its hard enough raising one with two parents and juggling all the other responsibilities.. then add in a day off for mamma or dad to go to their own thing... WOW! stress and time management go through the roof. it gets easier over time, but change things around in one of the parents daily lives.. and BLAMMO! back to square 1 and readjusting!!

my wife and i are currently helping my youngest daughter raise a 2 yr old little girl. wouldn't trade it for anything. she's the only thing that keeps me sane

You said the key word....You say you are helping.
I applaud that. I think every parent should help their child. However it is the ones who do for their child under the false understanding that are helping, when actually they are not helping at all by doing everything and not teaching the child/adult child how to do it for themselves.
