I use Baitcaster first of all.
I have used the Seaguar Red Label and I'm satisfied with its performance, but it wasnt what i thought it should be. It seems to backlash very easy in the spool. It is a strong line though, and I caught fish on it. I was using 10# on Wright and McGill Jerkbait rod with Ardent C-400 Reel. Is there a better line in the same Price range that is more castable?

I bought some Vicious and will never purchase that again. I used some Vanish transition and had about the same results as the Seaguar red label.

Been told that the Seaguar InvizX is the line to buy...Opinions please.

InvisX 15 and 20b but prefer a softer line like P-Line CX premium in cold weather and water.

Only flourocarbon ill ever use is Inviz-X. Always treat it with KVD line conditioner when spooling up and also about every third trip.

I've only noticed minor performance differences between Invisx and Red Label. I've not noticed a difference in castability.

I use Invisx, 12-20# on almost all of my rods.

The Invis X is the way to go but it sounds like it may be your settings on the real causing you to backlash. You may not also be thumbing it correctly. Not saying these are the problems but very likely to be. The red label is very good line and shouldn't be doing that at all. Just my opinion though.

I almost exlusively use red label and have never had issues. I have noticed, like Bill said, casting distance is a little better with invis-x. Being a broke college kid the red label is the perfect medium.

i also use berkly 100%. you problem maybe how your feeding it on your reels. you have to have it spool off the the line spool how it was spooled on or else major problems. this use to happen to me all the time. I put a pen through the hole the put it on the floor and hold it with my feet while i reel it on so i am holding tension and keeping the spool straight. i know this is dumb common sense but it works for me and it stopped the problem that i was having which sounds very simular to yours!

I'm also a fan of P-line CX Premium. Outer coating of floro on copolymer core. Casts good on baitcasting and spinning reels year-round. I always spray it with KVD line conditioner.

Im with Peter ............Play arround with your reel settings. You should be able to cast that "Red" with the Ardent you use. And use line conditioner frequently, once you get used to the quirks of flouo youll be glad you did.

I like P-line 100% fluoro. better than the Trilene 100% fluoro and the P-line comes in a 250 yard spool so it is one of the lower priced fluoro's per yard. I do use Invizx and P-line Halo. Halo has the most memory of the three lines I mentioned but it is very strong and I use it for jigs.

Stupid question, but how do you apply this stuff? After you spool your line on/as you're spooling it?...sorry, but a little late to the party with line conditioner..

I use the 25 # Seagar invis x and BPS fluor, but sometimes wonder if Im just waisting my money when I could be using 25 pound big game. I have some 25 pound big game on a couple of rods and fish just fine, Im not flippin with those rods but back in the day before braid and fluor there sure were a hell of alot of fish caught on mono. Do you really think fluor is that much better than mono especially for flippin. And I only fish Falcon.

Yes.
Less stretch, less memory, less visible in the water. And more sensitive.

Can you catch fish with mono? Sure. But flouro gives you an advantage.

All I use is Vicous Pro Elite and its great and alot cheaper been useing it for over a year now and no problems with it at all. The stuff is tuff as nails period the best I have used. Spray a little KVD line conditioner on the night before and a few times throughout the day and you cant beat it may not have to through the day but I do on all my line.
