Its not supposed to be able to pass inspection with an exhause leak... it seems like im the only person they check every frickin thing on thought.

I bought a used honda accord with 200k+ miles on it for 300 bucks to drive back and for in college the jack legs at Bradzoil failed it because there was some moistrue around my powersteering pump... They failed it before I paid it I asked why, when they told me that I told him to jump in a lake grabed my keys and walked out to the shop and drove off. Inspections are a joke one guy follows the rules to a T and beyond the next guy asks you if everything works and then gives you a sticker.

Yeah what Im sayin is that the poepl who inspected your vehicle likely tested the blinkers and gave you a sticker. In no way shape or form would I rely on them to find an exhausst leak.

Anyway an exhaust leak shouldnt make the truck loose power unless it has a turbo(what kind of truck is it).

Does it feel like the motor is running right and just not getting to the ground or the motor is just weak? What where the multiple misfires? How does the trans shift?

If your trying to tell them they caused the exhaust leak then I think you better try and find better support for your argument than it was sudo recently inspected, or they will tell you to jump in a lake.

If the motor doesnt run correctly after they worked on your egnition system and the trans doesnt shift right then you have something to complain about.

depending on the vehicle--there is a very good chance that the exhaust system or at least part of it would have to be dropped/removed to replace transmission

It can't pass with an exhaust leak. I had some transmission work done once, and they knocked an exhaust header off kilter....I had to have that repaired before it would pass inspection.

I would love to know how it was put on backwards. If it was possible, the exhaust pipe would in no way, shape , or form line up to it. If thats the case, a deaf man would be able to hear that leak.

Yeah, you're right. At this point, I'm just assuming they found something worse that they did and just didn't want to tell him exactly what it was, so they told him a couple of mistakes that sound fairly harmless and fixed the problems they had caused.
