I'm gonna order a few rod "socks" and I know this topic's been discussed a few times before - but I'd like to give my business to a local maker if possible - and if he makes the best product out there. Seems like some of the material used out there enables the smaller guides to slip through?

And really, how many of you have ordered socks with those grommets on top so you can hang your rods? I've never thought about doing that - seems interesting and I'm halfway wondering if I should get some with those grommets, just in case I ever find out that hanging my rods might be easier than putting them in my rack.

Thanks y'all.

Dont know about the Grommet, but I have a few dozen of the Rodsox and they are made by a disabled Vet and he is in TX, I support his product 100% and I have never had an eye poke through it either. http://rodsox.com/

I got all of mine form Army Bass Anglers which obviously supports a great cause. They are $8-$10 each.

You will love the one's with grommets. Order from Southwest Supply.
They even have the ones for the micro guide rods. I want to keep my reel boots on them so the dust stays out. I can't put them in my rack with the boots on the reels but I can hang them from the grommet on my begboard wall.
