Hey everybody, Here's a quick update on the fishing, post monsoon. The lake is up about 3ft and is slightly over 2ft low. Current surface temp was 53. All the hull-busters that were barely out of the water are now hidden but hopefully everybody has them marked. On a side note, I'm going to get all the stumps I have marked and keep a running list so all the new folks can stay safe. Gonna work on that tomorrow hopefully.
With all that rain and mud flowing into the lake it really killed the fishing last week. I dont think I have ever seen the water so stained. We worked hard at it and still eeked out a few fish but it was tough. BUT....This is a new week with great weather forecasted, rising water temps and light wind. Should be fantastic!
Got out today with high expectations of some hungry fish and it didn't disappoint. Caught somewhere around 30-40 fish before this came in:

Very cool site but it absolutely SHUT DOWN the fish for the rest of our time out...except for these little monsters.

The bite today was definitely not what it was the last 2-3 weeks but it was steady. Lots of fish but the size dropped. But still a relief after the slop of a week since last Wednesday

I'm guessing that it's going to steadily pick back up as the week goes on until the spawn gets going full throttle. With these warmer temps and lack of a decent cold snap, this thing may get going SOON! We did keep a few for a weekend fish fry but threw back about as many.

I'm still running the $100 a head special for anybody who wants to get out. (no minimum # of people needed to book) Let's get out there and get em!
