Finally getting to fishing for the first time since last summer, and will be the first crappie fishing trip in years. I haven't been hearing good reports on LOP or Caddo. What's talks thoughts on where u should go. I'm not looking for details, just hoping to go catch a few.

even in October when it was 4' low I saw the locals/experts catching crappie on Caddo. The search feature is down but if you scroll through the fly fishing section there was a post not too long ago regarding Caddo and seems it was on; I think if you viewed my posts you'll see the link to the report. Never been on LOP so just don't know.

If Caddo is a possibility, then it's a mistake not to go there! Even on a slow day there is just something special about that place. I read that report a while back that said they were catching some in the river. Lake is 1.5' high and I don't think they're letting much water out of LOP, so it should be fishable.

Crappie Fishing Caddo
XCF Guide Service

It was a fair day on Caddo, put 18 fish in the boat in 4 hours; most of them were over 10 inch, keep only the best 9.
All but one came on the Crazy Angler Slab Bandit 1000-002 Texas Toast the fish were coming about 7 feet down in 18 feet of water, fishing tree top in the upper river.

Typical of the last two week on Caddo.

Welp went to caddo last Saturday, not what we are expecting, but still had fun. 1 white perch and and 15 sand bass, all small in about 8 feet of water, on minnows, road runners, and rattler traps. Heading back out this weekend, gotta catch some crappie. I'm wondering if this week of cooler weather is helping the bite on LOP? I gotta think this cool weather has pushed the fish off the trees on caddo.
