I made a post in the equipment section of the forum, but I realize that not everyone visits that section so I wanted to post it here for you guys as well. I have invented and am patenting the most universal light ever. It's called the Blazer, by Tasker Lighting Systems. It is the first in a series of high performance lights. We expect to be in production within a month, but I wanted to get exposure before then...expecially to people who love to fish like I do. If you like to fish at night, on the bank or on a boat, the Blazer portable light is perfect for you. It is 12vdc in a waterproof case with 2 independently aimable lights on 12" flexible arms. With BOTH lights on, it lasts for over 11 hours, and with one light on it lasted for almost one full day. For more on the Blazer, you can see the little video I threw together. http://youtu.be/SB-YNDW2hI0 You guys let me know what you think, as I had ya'll in mind when I designed it, and your feed back is very important to me. Thanks guys/gals, Brad

I am waiting to hear from two of my suppliers on final wholesale shipping costs, as they play the biggest abstract part of an items retail value. I should know within a week or two on what the final per-unit cost will be.
With a green light aimed in the water and an amber or red light aimed in the boat, you have a fish attracter light/bug-free boat light combo.

Don't hold a gun to my head on this, but I am guess-timating that it will be in the range of 185-195 retail(including both MR16 bulbs), depending on the shipping costs. My intention from the start was to keep it under the $200 mark so the average person could afford it, without compromising the quality, and I was able to do that.

The lumen rating is whatever the bulb is and has nothing to do with the unit itself. The bulbs that will likely come with the unit are cool white 420LM 6000-6500K each. The lights we tested with, and that are in the photo's are 120LM each. I recommend using a sealed lead acid battery(gel-cell or agm) of 10ah or less; however, if you have a 12volt lithium ion battery that will fit in the case, and you have a way to connect the terminals, then I see no reason why it shouldn't work. After all 12vDC is 12vDC, regardless of the power source.

So thats 2 bills WITHOUT batterys, am I reading this right That's correct. Look at it like this opus...You can buy your own battery for $15-$20, or we can include it in the unit and add an extra $50 to the cost of the unit. Shipping costs, when you include the battery, almost quadruple because of the added weight. It doesn't make sense to me to charge you an extra $50 for something that can be bought for 1/3 of that. I am just an average guy like most of the people in here. I don't make a lot of money, and as a consumer myself, when contemplating this, I felt this was the fairest thing to do because it will save money in the end.

Makes sence, you wanted questions got another 1 you said tested with 120 lm but will come with 420lm so does that mean battery will last 1/3 time tested 2.5 hr. Sorry test kinda useless if not same bulbs What kind of battery was used in that test?

Sorry test kinda useless if not same bulbs I'm no lightbulb expert, so I'll try and explain it the way it was described to me. The difference in burn time between the two 4-watt bulbs of different lm's is relatively negligable. The bulb wattage is mainly what determines battery draw. The luminousity of a bulb, in addition to wattage, has to do with the brand, type and number of diodes, the reflective background they are set in, and the type of lens. A lot of bulbs have the same capabilities, but are brought to different lume's by manipulating their reflective and dispersion ability. It's no different than having 2 regular 40 watt bulbs like we would use in our home, one being clear glass with a mirrored base and one having a frosted lens and no mirrored base. They both use 40watts, but put out different light levels. I hope that makes sense and I explained it well enough. All tests were done using a 10ah battery.

I understand opus, obviously it's not for everyone. Luckily there are more than enough that can afford it to keep us busy for quite a while. I pray things look up for you guys, hopefully after the election things will start to improve for everyone. And if it doesn't, every survivalist in the country will be ordering at least one. lol

You've got your answer to your lighting problem right there. Another benefit of that setup is that hauling a 30lb battery around will build your muscles. Best of luck.

Very interesting. The price is a little shocking to me to be honest. You mentioned the waterproof case, is the light arms and lights themselves waterproof? That would negate the price for me. Something I could take diving with me if I wanted. Or bank fishing at night you could place it in the water with one light below the surface and one above.

The arms are waterproof and the fixture is rated IP65, meaning that it is not succeptible to particulates and is resistant to the forceful ingress of water; however, it is not meant to be used as a diving light. As someone who has scuba'd in the past, the lights we used, even 20 yrs ago, were in an entirely different class. They were manufactured and tested to different standards. You don't have to stick the fixture in the water, just get close and aim it at the water. The green lens emits a very cool neon like glow in the water.

I'm not sure if this is sarcasm or not... but if not, shes this person on youtube who claims to own the patent for the Alabama rig and she visits people videos and says that they are violating laws by using "alabama-rig" or "a-rig" in their video tags. There was a thread about it, ill have to go look to it.

You should consider selling these on the hunting forum too. Set it up to have 2 red LED lights beaming down at a feeder. Just keep shooting the hogs until you run out of shells! Yes sir, posted there before I posted here. We have sold 17 off the THF so far. The fishermen will pick up their buying once the season hits and people start fishing more at night. Well, perhaps not Opus, but most will. lol
