The week of daylight savings, March 15th. It should be a good year, unlike last when it took between 6-10LBS to win.

To easy to cheat the way it was set up last year.It honestly needs to be a team event.

We have thought about doing a team tourney this year, but no final decision has been made. We (Eastland County Bass Club) are having our first meeting next week. I will check on the date and post it when I find out. The club would love to hear your imput and if you would like to join you would have a vote. The people who got accused of cheating rarely even win, but I know what you are saying. I think that more of Tarelton State guys would fish, but we might lose some oldtimers if it was a team format. A decision will be reached next week and we will move foward from there.

Last weekend we went to Amistad to do a little scouting for the Champs. After all of the back and forth on the rules, coupled with the schedule and lack of a Championship, we decided to fish the BLT and the Champs. I like the fish care and the format of the Bud Light better anyway. What is this I keep hearing about a key?

The lake came up about 7 to 8 ft. We need a good shot this Friday and it should fill up. Alot of the good spots are back in the water with alot of flooded veg in the water. Should be a great spring/summer if we can keep water in the lake.

If this does go to a team format I would really like to fish it on a consitent basis if anyone has an open backseat that I could fill up I would be a very happy camper!

Tourneys will be on Thursdays

BP master, I am sure we can make it work, and find a boater for you. There will be a few older guys that will be looking for someone to get in with them. PM me with your info so I can pass it along at our meeting next Monday.

I think we should keep it singles and just fish it like always and just weed the cheaters out. I think were going to have good turnouts so cheaters would be seen by others. All of the regulars are there for fun and dont need to cheat. I just dont like the fact that if someone doesnt have a partner one week they will feel like it is unfair. But I will be there weekly however it turns out. O yea im sure if someone does get caught or accused of cheating there not just going to get a slap on the wrist and be told to sit out a couple tourneys, they shouldnt be allowed back at all and others will find out they are cheaters. Its supposed to be fun and honest, come on its $20 bucks.

I agree, and can assure you that if someone was caught that it would be the last on of our tourneys they would fish ever. It is designed to be a fun fellowship of like minded individuals that enjoy the opprotunity to get on the water during the week. I know if I did not have a partner Id have a hard time paying double to get in. I just dont want to exclude anybody. On the other hand, the situation from last year is still fresh in alot of peoples minds, and they might not come if we dont do a team deal. I think a team deal would be tough if you put a couple locals in the same boat, you could see the same team win 80 to 90% of em, them what. It is a tough situation and i see both sides of it. We will know on Monday and I will post the vote of the club. My feeling from talking to other club members is that it will be a team deal, but we'll see.

Cody, what is the feeling among the Tareleton Bass Club? Would more fish if it was a team deal?

Justin, Yes I forgot my key at the HC tourney Sunday. We took my parteners truck and I did not even think about getting the key.

I also see both sides of the fence. If someone is caught cheating and they are banned, for life, then that is a big improvement. I know it is just $20 bucks but when you fish every week and spend the gas money to drive to leon it adds up. I am sure that I will fish it either way. Just have a sour taste in my mouth after last year.

I have actually done the very same thing, we had to drive from Bwood to Eastland to get the key, and then back. We weren't on the water until 10:15....bad day!! You came out beter than we did, but it is still funny.

We as a club want the attendance to return to what it was 3-4 years ago. We are open to any ideas as to how we can do it.

It is going to be different this year,. Remember that this is a different club running things this year, and none of the stuff from last year will be tolerated.

It is going to be fun and fair!!
