Well, while you were away in the Naughty Box Kevin, there have been at least two over 14 lbs caught out of there. Unfortunately, they were put back before they filed any paperwork.

I really don't have a clue why blue catfish are in so many other lakes that have never been stocked but they are not in joe pool, arlington, etc.

Brian,

Parks and Wildlife determines a certain percentage of forage fish to % of body of water plus they take a look at the whole fishery before they consider putting in blues. Unlike channels, blues feed primarily on live fish and from what i've heard from Ott, Pool just would have a hard time sustaining them in good populations.

Arlington is probably too small and too shallow plus it was at one point heavily stocked with channels which there are a lot of large channels. Arlington has a lot of gizzard shad too which helps.
Pool doesn't have hardly any gizzards. There are lots of undersize, stunted fish in that lake. And way to many 8 and 9 inch sandbass. Lots of skinny channels too. The LMB population has finally produced some decent fish over the last few years due to the slot, but I think the main problem with that lake is a lack of large gizzard shad and too many sandies eating all the threadfins.
