Just because I'm wondering what the heck is going on....

I put out bird feed daily at my place and at the girlfriends place. Done it for the past few years. Birds normally flock to it and tear it up. This year...we get two birds here and a bird there, at times we get nothing for days upon days. Anybody else bored enough to shoot out an answer as to what is different about this year from the past few?

I wondered the same, our birds aren't coming around much either. Drought may have killed a lot of em.

I filled my feeders on Saturday.
Had to fill them again tonight.

The birds all flew into each other and died on New Years Eve.

I have a 4x8 plywood topped work table in back of the trailer.
I got tired of filling feeders so I just started tossing the feed on the table. I get lots of cardinals and sparrows. Also birds that look like giant sparrows but are female red wing black birds.

just drive through carrollton right at dark and you'll find where the birds went. There must be 10 million of those grackels out there looking for trees to roost in. rats with wings.

I think it mainly has to do with the warm weather. Sure the drought in the South plays into it. Seeds from trees reduced, same for worms and such. Bet the SE part of the country has a lot of birds we normally see.
