Any of you had any luck on Lake Waco since this last rain? Can anyone point me in the right direction to locate eater size blues? Have any of you found any shad lately? I will be taking the boat, not bank fishing... As long as the wind cooperates.

Was on Waco Saturday, went up Hog Creek about 1/2 mile past old bridge looking for shad, the fisherman there reported very slow bite. I then went up the South Bosque and was picking up sand bass but no shad, bank fishermen were reporting slow bite also. I think the fish were scattered in the newly flooded timber and fields. Flooded is not exactly the correct description since the lake is now at normal but had been low for so long. Watch for floating logs everywhere!
Sunday went to MCC and found a good bit of shad in the Bosque. The Bosque was 2-1/2 degrees warmer than the Brazos and found no shad in the Brazos. Look for shad on bridge/dock piers with sunlight...If you have a boat try the areas now covered with water and or the channels leading to these areas.
Where I found shad I also netted several nice size Crappie.
PM me and I will tell you more about shad..Good Luck

You can catch a mess of eaters on Waco about any day of the week on punch bait. Fishing shallow.
