I also get a kick out of that phrase. Either you are speeding or not! No entrapment involved!

It's where you set up somewhere that speed limit changes dramatically and hide. Duh

Are there not signs posted of the speed change?

Keeping up with the Jones can get you in trouble.

there's one in Fredericksburg. coming south on hwy 16 it drops from a 60 sign to 50 sign in a hundred yards and if you're not at 50 right at the sign they come hauling out after you. hell, i do 50 when i get to the 60 sign these days.

Technically, you are right (I guess), but if you don't believe there are areas set up for the purpose of "revenue enhancement" as opposed to public safety, you are being VERY naive!!

Its all about money! All these citirs with there wanna be commercial vehicle enforcement. Talking on phone in commercial vehicle is now a 2750.00 fine to driver and11,000.00 to company. Its a joke!

I do not get to make up the rules just follow them. (when I can) My father was a LEO for 33 years and seldom wrote a speeding ticket. You travel enough and become aware of the troubled areas.

What about the individuals that are injured from a driving distraction?

I got a speeding ticket in a little town and when the cop clocked me with his radar a pickup was passing me. The dude in the pickup lived there and when a cop is driving a new Camaro you know you're in trouble. This was in 1990.

I can tell it is the end of the month, because the hood rats near my office are out and about before 2pm.

i got a ticket in stupid Memphis, Texas b/c the cop knew i wouldn't travel 250 miles to contest it. arsehole said i was doing 80 when my cruise control was set on 70. told him he was full of it and he wrote me a ticket. i called the judge when i got home and she was as much an arse as he was. nothing i could do but ship them the $250. that was the only money i will EVER spend in that kraphole town.

Shopping carts were loaded down at Kroger.

I live in one of the highest ticket issuing areas in TX (google selma TX speeding ticket) and have NEVER recieved a ticket.....funny what happens (or doesn't happen) when you pay attention to driving and follow the law.

Or are a local who knows all the popos and the areas they're most likely to be working traffic.

i work in schertz, those selma cops are freaking everywhere around 35!

Don't forget the freaky 27 mph speed limits on some of the side roads.

Doesn't the law only prohibit the use of "hand held cell phones"? Can't you still use a hands free cell phone if it is necessary to talk while you are driving? Also, the fines you quoted are maximum amounts allowed by law.

It also helps when you live in a place and KNOW its a speed trap ... but their "cash cow" is all the non-local traffic on I35 that passes through there.

As my wife's family is from Brackettville and we have a son that lives in SA, I travel that road all too often. I did a Google search as you suggested ... and after reading all of that, trust me ... I will never exit I35 there nor spend one of my hard earned dollars within the Selma city limits. Hope all the businesses in Selma appreciate what the City is doing for them.

Slow down and don't mess with Texas and buckle up and don't drink and drive and you can't watch porn in traffic.
