This coming saturday, I finally get to hit the lake again. Anyone been having any luck from the bank? I will probably bring the kiddo, so someplace that isn't too much of a hike preferably. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Nah Soren, its been tough. Fished Friday and all day today with a total of 6 cats. Tough stuff since the rain. Wish I had some advice. Good luck

You're a regular chucklefest there Joe. Lol. I'm ready. I've been out for a couple hours here and there gettin' skunked at Waxahachie, I'm ready to go to a big-boy lake and get skunked by some real fish.

It's just a matter of logistics. I have two kids and work 40-50 hours a week, so stuff around the house has got to get done sometimes, and unfortunately "sometimes" means on the weekends.

A perfect situation would be to get the wife out on the water, but I know she ain't gonna tolerate sitting on the bank for 8 hours....

My dad always says it is easier to ask forgivess than permission...and my parents have been married for over forty years so he must be doing something right. You can't wait until your wife gives you permission to go fishing...life is too short.

So the moral of the story is go fishing...leave a note...forget your cell phone....when she yells at you look at her and say "your absolutely right honey." Repeat next weekend.

I'm with ya Brian, but it's not the wife that is the issue so much as it is this irritating list of personal obligations that have to be fulfilled. Nothin' bugs me more than being at the lake knowing there is stuff that I should be doing at home. I was just raised that way. Work first, play when you're done. I can't properly relax at the lake when I know I'm not doing what I should be doing to better the life of the kids and the wife. I'm kinda old school like that.

Can't knock a man for that kind of thinking, to be a good dad and husband sometimes we must suffer..... literally, but it's all for the better good. It ain't always easy being a family man but it sure is rewarding. If I can't make time to do some weekday fishing it ain't gonna happen, weekends are for my family and I really enjoy the time with them

Yeah.....really gonna need this trip. Dryer just broke, which is appropriate. That way it matches the broken oven. I can see my tax refund floooooooaaaaaaaating away......saturday is gonna be sweet as long as I can find a spot.

Id invite ya to go bank skunking with me but you'd probally just wake up with a sinus headache and revoked kitchen pass...............lol
