Thinking about going to Washington next summer for the salmon season. Anyone done that, and if so do you have advice on where to stay, who to go with, etc...

Never been to Washington state, but did a trip to Vancouver Island last August. It was awesome. Stayed here...

check out the license fees in washington and Oregon, the Columbia river has salmon runs most of the year..i think Oregon has more rivers with salmon runs than washington,both states have great fishing .the Columbia has small mouth & large mouth bass.plus trout and sturgeon, Portland has the columbia river and the willamette river....good luck

My girlfriend and I went and stayed with her Uncle and Aunt in Oregon last summer, and did some salmon fishing there. Great fun. We later went on an Alaskan cruise and did a salmon fishing trip through the cruise line. Great fishing. Sorry I can't give you any advice, but I hope you have some fun.

Went to the Umpqua in Oregon last year for steelhead and Salmon. They have plenty in the river you just have to catch them at the right time when they are running.

I was stationed in Bremerton.Wa while in the Navy. Fished the mouth of the Columbia near Astoria. Great fishing and a beautiful town. The Cowlitz River is great as well. Nothing like fresh salmon cooked on the bank with some lemon pepper. MMMMM!!!

I lived in Washington for a long time and mainly stuck with LMB. You can find any kind of fish out there. If you like to hike I would suggest Washington State up by Port Angeles. Very cool place to visit and if you are going with any females you can hike around Forks WA where they filmed twilight. Lake Cresent has a special kind of trout only found on that lake. Great fishing all over. If you do go to Washington and like to eat fish. Order fish or seafood where ever you eat. The Dungeness Crab is the best crab you will ever have. Casinos are all over the place too. Just Saying

I lived in Olympia Washington for 28 years and the places I loved to fish were either the Cowlitz, mouth of the Columbia, or Westport. Just depends on when you go and what you want to do. There is nothing around the Columbia except Annie's topless tavern and its scary! lol Not much around the Cowlitz either but I know a good guide there that is always on the salmon and steelhead. Westport has some cool bars and casinos near it. I have a family friends that runs a charter boat out of there. Just depends on what your into. If it was me going on a salmon trip, I would be going to Alaska.
