I changed out my water seperator filter today.I poured the fuel that was in the old filter into a jar and found several clear and black plastic or rubber fragments in the fuel.Does anyone know what this is and will this lead to a bigger problem?

Guys ethanol is no joke. I have a friend that works at the Cheveron Refinary. He told me that they performed a test with 50 gallons of 10% ethanol fuel. They poured a bottle of Robitussin cough syrup in the tank and within 20 minutes, the entire 50 gallons turned to jello.

Thanks Obama!!!!

Yes, ethanol. You should be adding some Ring Free or Quick Clean, plus some Marine STABILizer (or Startron) in your tank every fillup!!!

Change to fuel lines to the new ones that will not break down.

Has anyone on here actually done a complete fuel line change out? Who carries all the ethanol hoses?

Had mine changed last week. They all were split on the inside from the ethanol. Caught mine just in time! Martin Pro Outdoors has the hose in-stock, they can change them in less than 30 min.

Water separator + 10 micron filter. I bought my ethanol proof hoses at Napa automotive parts. Cost around 4.50 per foot. I would change out the primer bulb as well. I used metal clamps on all of my hoses as I had a problem sucking air with the plastic clamps.

+1 on Martin Pro Outdoors

http://martinprooutdoors.com/

He worked on my boat and as far as boat mechanics go...he's one of the best and least expensive. I will happily drive the hour to him to get my boat worked on.

Im def gonna have to check out Martin Pro Outdoors. I wanna get my fuel lines upgraded on my 2000 model year skeeter. Ethanol is a big FAIL. I run Startron, Stabil ethanol treatmant and seafoam in my tank.
