Had planned to go to Travis, but wind nixed that plan, then forgetting my paddle nixed getting out to Granger, so I ended up at LBL. Trolled from Austin High School to Red Bud Island. Picked up this healthy little guy, but that was it.

Also found this guy right across from the launch. His right wing was broken right at the top joint, he was pretty messed up and let me get within a few feet of him.

Came back and got one of the yaks mounted up to the wall. Just need another pair of these hooks to mount the PBG right underneath the Tarpon.

He was a beautiful/healthy little guy. Probably about 2.5lbs. He felt like a clump of grass unti I got him to the side of the yak and he decided to give me a shower.

That guy and the rainbow I caught last week are probably the first fish i've ever caught in january. Of course thats probably because I'm not usually getting out fishing in January too.

Was talking to some guys yesterday that were in a bass boat and they jokingly asked what horsepower motor does my kayak have. Your post reminded me of that.

My response was going to be that or something to do with being powered by 2 "guns".

They weren't on Saturday afternoon between AHS and Red Bud, I can tell you that much. Saw that 8 pound chunk that you winched out of there, nice fish Hooligan.

Looks like a really beautiful area,, nice bass. Those hooks make a really clean installation.

What is the water temp down there right now?

I think the water in most of the lakes down here are in the mid 50s. The next 2 days are supposed to get into the upper 70s, but then we have nearly a week of 60 degree highs.

I would definitely suggest to anyone to paddle and fish Lady Bird Lake, especially the stretch from lamar to Tom Mille hessr Dam (upstream). It really is a special place. And even when it's crowded, the "view" usually just gets better. ;-)

Not the best picture ever, but I got the PBG hung up too.

I got these hooks at Home Depot for about 6 bucks a piece. Put a small piece of scrap wood between them and the wall to act as a bearing pad.
