Hey guys, I was wondering if anybody made it out today on EM, lake worth, etc. The only water I've been on in Fort Worth since moving down here has been at Marine Creek. So I'm looking to play on some new water. I've heard good stuff about EM and lake worth, but how is the water looking after all the rain? And more importantly, how's the bite? Also, what ramps would you guys recommend putting in on?
Thanks in advance!

Benbrook is now full. That lake has some hogs in it and hasn't been fished much in the last three years due to low water conditions.

yeah. i was wondering about that one... I would think 4+ft of water would have it looking like chocolate though. But I've heard that TPWD surveys turned up some really nice fish there in past samplings. I was looking around and it seems you need some sort of permit for Lake Worth. I take it that I can't buy that on a sunday anyway, so it looks like that option is out. I see there is a free ramp on EM called shady grove park. Any reason to not put in at this one (vs. the one that has a $10 fee?).
thanks again guys for the info!

Fished Benbrook this afternoon. Water clarity is not too bad considering all the rain. Middle of the lake is dirty but water clarity was pretty good up in Richardson.Lots of floating stuff so be careful.

If you're by yourself, don't use Shady Grove. All rocks with no good place to beach your boat. It is worth $10 to me to have a good loading dock at West Bay marina. Plus it is gated so no in / out traffic. Caught this one out there this afternoon on a chatterbait (water temp 50.3).

yup. I had someone with me today at EM. Interesting boat dock they have there in Shady! I have a feeling none of that cove was wet a week ago. I managed to boat 5 today, but nothing to spectacular. I missed several on a jig, which was getting real annoying. But I was happy to be hooking some. My "big" fish today went about 3lbs and came off a chatterbait too. I caught fish on a jig, crank, and a jerkbait too. Oh, I had a catfish slam my chatterbait too today underneath a dock. Actually, now that I think of it, I guess that 4lb cat was the "biggun" today. I saw water temps from 47-50 and found some pretty good looking water clarity up toward the dam (which is where the jerkbait bites came into play). Otherwise, neat lake and a nice day to be on the water.

Ha, to be quite honest, I didn't look at the sign that closely. Makes more sense now! But nah, I didn't venture over near twin points. That would make for a good ramp location with a south wind though. For $5, that would be worth going through the shallow/stumpy area at shady grove.

The water was almost 54 toward the back end of Big Carter.. This warm weather continues, we will definately have an earlier spring pattern develop this year
