Went out Saturday and couldn't find any shad. Any tips on where they are?

Most of the water looks like chocolate milk, really dirty. Also, lot of floaters, some really big, so be careful on the water.

I was using cut shad 2-3 inches soaked in budlight.

When I do find them they are usually around longhorn boat ramp.
