Most of the deep diving cranks have a 2.5 inch body, and the large bill (of course), but do they make any that are a smaller profile deep diving bait? Or am I stuck throwing 1/4oz traps and waiting 30 minutes for them to hit the bottom in 20-25 feet of water? I'd really like to see a series 1 deep diver. If any of you guys have any suggestions, let me know. Thanks.

I havnt seen any. Suspend strips or the lead around the hook is probably your best bet. I plan on trying it with a kvd 1.0.

I didn't know if there was any custom lure makers out there that could possibly make one. I wonder if there is a way to use some kind of epoxy to extend the bills on the smaller cranks without affecting the way they run.

I would imagine there are some physics laws at play here.

Size 5 Down Deep Rapala Fat Rap.

They don't make them anymore but they work great. Pull straight and have a smaller profile. You can find them for sale on EBAY.

I'm looking for a smaller profile bait. Sort of like a "finesse" deep diver. Something that is capable of reaching 15+ feet but doesn't feel like you're dragging a dredger with a mule.

What about the Norman Little N? Is that too big of a body? I think it's the same bill as a DD 22 or close to it just a smaller body............ You may already know but that why I bought it. Smaller.

The old HotnTots had an aluminum bill that you could bend. I'm not sure what depths guys were getting these to.

It's going to be hard to find a small bodied deep diving crank that dives past 15ft. I don't know of any. The deepest diving small cranks that I know of are the 1/4oz hot lips (maybe 12-13ft) and the Manns 15+ which is probably the deepest diving small plug you'll find unless you have any of the old rapalas with the long thin lip (problem is that lips on them break off quite often).
