I am in S. arlington today and I have my boat ready to go just not sure where to go. I have some kids I want to take out and catch some fish. They are used to catching small brim but I would like to get them into a good bite. Any suggestions? Joe Pool is only a few miles from here but I have not heard good things about it's bite. Grapevine is about a 30 minute drive (which is no problem) But I have heard you better know the lake to catch fish.....can anyone help? I really want the kids to catch fish... they are early teens and I want to get them hooked on fishing. Any and all help is appreciated. I dont care what we catch as long as we catch. Thanks to everyone in advance for your help

I recommend you postpone your trip for a few days. Today, the North Wind would make for a very dangerous situation on any lake. Lot's of fresh water will slow the bite for a day or two.

Besides the windy conditions it will be difficult to catch much today right after the front. Experienced fishermen will do OK but your kids will be disappointed. The only thing I could see working is to take them to a community pond stocked with catfish. There are several in the mid cities area.
