Hey guys, I fished lady bird the other week and was very impressed with the quality of fish in that little place.

In 2 hrs I caught 8 fish, nothing under 2 lbs. I had 4 fish over 5 lbs, with one being a ligit 8 lber. I was pumped, especially cause I was basically right there under hwy 35 with buildings all around me. I did not even go to the lower portion where the grass is at. I felt like Mike Ike on City Limit.

Anyways, I will bring the boat from now on any time my wife wants to go to Austin for the weekend. Very fub. However, the only disappointing thin was that I could not fish very much of the lake cause of the no motor rule. You can only troll around and basically beat the banks. Does anyone know if you can use the engine further down lake. It sure would be nice to cover some water and find some humps and stuff.

RSK yea great lake, there are some toad's in there and that's where TPWD would try do test with introducing different type's of fish in texas. to answer your question: no gasoline engine's on the whole lake. paddle or troll only

Lake Austin, accessible just down Lake Austin Blvd by the Hula Hut, is also great and you can use your motor. Only draw back is wake boats.
