i know its not a bass, but i was bass fishing and hooked this fish. biggest fish ive ever caught. our scales stopped at 50#. we think he was pushing 100#. im 5'7" and this was as high as i could lift him. it took me and my partner both to lift him or her (not sure) out of the water. all we had was a regular bass net and could only get 1/3 of it in it.. not gonna switch to rough fishng anytime soon but this was definatley the catch of a life time. reevo reel, kistler rod, 12# vicious flouro, xr 50 one knocker..

That is a big Smallmouth Buffalo. Being that I do fish for them on purpose, it would be likely around mid 70's. Their girth and width can fool ya sometimes. Thanks for being respectful and releasing a trophy fish. Most wouldn't.

That's a heck of a fish. Did you snag him or did he take your bait. I looked up the lake record and looks like you boys had a shot at it. It stands at 81lbs

Sorry, that is a buffalo. Notice, no barbels at the mouth. Common carp have barbels. Small mouth buffalo get bigger than common carp too.

When I was 13 I caught a 23 pounder at PK. Didn't know it was the lake record or I would have not used it for catfish bait.
