We fished the Nolan the middle of April and there were more White/Sand Bass than we could catch. Fly hit the water, 3 second count, and a hard tug first strip; the result was FishOn! every time. Encroaching dusk ran us off; not the lack of fish. We saw no golden algae, then, either.

When did the algae appear?

He's saying that he hopes the ga in the lake will not effect the numbers of fish downstream.

Ahh, okay. I wasn't paying attention and misread the original thread. Thanks, Jerry; it is appreciated!

yes the lakes and brazos with the low water in the nolan in march i launched by bass boat in the brazos to a sight of dead fish every were. The only way to the nolan for sand bass is up the brazos unless you are you are refering to the nolan above pat cleburne.Never seen dead fish in the nolan due to ga only poor handling. On the bright side it did lead me to finding rowlett creek last year with a few hybrids on the fly fun stuff.Never the less we all need to pray for more rain.

@Robert. You can get access to the Nolan, above Whitney by walking in at the Tx933 Blum bridge. As you mention, you can also come UP the Nolan from the Brazos, usually launching a Kimball Bend or Plowman Creek park (I think).
