I'm watching people on YouTube install fish finders but haven't found one that talks about type of 12 volt battery. Easiest way to install. Any suggestions and pricing perhaps? helpsign bang

Academy sports has 12v deer feeder batteries. That is where I bought mine. Not sure of the current price, but do remember it was the cheapest I could find.

I installed mine in a rubbermade container with styrofoam around the inside to make a tight fit. There are battery boxes you can buy as well. I will look for a picture of mine and post later.

I put a guide up for what I did for my "expandable" battery box. Might be overkill for your application but there are links of where the materials came from.

I use the 12v deer feeder battery from Academy. I just secure it in my dry bag and it fits snug in the hull of my boat without moving around at all. I would recomend something other than aligator clips attached to the battery too. I had those and they popped off a bit on the water. So I just went to Lowes picked up a 12 pack of square electrical connectors that fit super snug over the terminals of the battery and have not had a issue yet.

I even made a neat little wall recharger for it too. My buddy was tossing a 12v battery charger away (consisted of 8 inches of wire and the wall plug in peice) that was designed to recharge the batteries in the Power Wheels sets.

Spliced in about 5 feet of wire and some alligator clips we had laying around in the wire maintenane lab at work and I got myself a free battery charger.
