Just starting out kayak fishing last year,I live in Houston TX. and was hoping yall could help me out with a few questions I have before I start going out

1. does anyone know of any good lakes to kayak fish? I feel all the ones I have been on would be very long paddles to get to the parts of the lake I have been more successful at and was wondering if anyone new of some places to go?

2. I mainly fresh water fish but am now looking to get into more saltwater and also I am not sure where to go? what to look for while salt water fishing( Such as in fresh water I can see the structure bass would be sitting on what do I look for in salt water to find fish) and do I go into the bays or surf and where would be a good place to lunch

3. any advice you wish you had before you really knew what you were doing would also help

4. I have not bought my kayak yet so if anyone is looking to get rid of one let me know

1. Check out the http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/fishboat/boat/paddlingtrails/coastal/buffalo_bayou/index.phtml Buffalo Bayou paddling trail.

2. I duno either, I'm a freshie.

3. Test boats, test boats, and test boats and save till you can buy the one you want. Understand the additional needs and costs of kayak usage and ownership. Don't have a truck? How are you hauling the boat? Live in an Apt and don't have a garage, where are you keeping the boat?

4. Keep an eye out here, www.texaskayakfisherman.com and Craigslist.

There are not many bad lakes to fish in Texas especially in a good angler style yak. Some ARE better than others IMO. Just be careful if your paddle around a lake like Travis or Lewiseville. There are fools on all waters acting foolishly so b careful n use your head.

I know it's not super close but I'm envious of some of the reports from yaks I see out of fayette county lake down your way. For bass, I should say...
