I just got off the phone with my son. He is in Malaysia at the first test of the year for the new racebikes and said "on paper" they expect to top 217 mph on several of the tracks this year after going to 1000cc motors from 800cc. Scary for me, but it is what he does. Should be an interesting season.

First race will be April 8th from sunny Qatar. All of his races should be carried on SpeedTV this year. I have my suitcase packed.

All his bones are healed and he seems in good physical shape. He rode his bicycle from Austin to his house at White Rock 2 weeks ago and averaged 22mph, so I think he is ready.

Bike is the same size and basically the same weight as last year. Just more horsepower and lower rpm. Should be fast.

217 is crazy for going in a straight line I can't imagine having to grab brakes and have to slow for a corner from that fast.

hey adam, since your close to sanger, you could take a passenger seat in one of my dads drag racing cars. they will snap the 1/4 mile in close to that.

My neighbor has one of those bikes that gets close to two. Him and his buddies don't even worry about the cops.

Ben has never had a motorcycle license or owned a street bike. He thinks it is way too dangerous to ride on the streets around Dallas.

I "get it"....and dont blame him. We thought the same thing at our family's Yamaha dealership. I HATED to sell or service street bikes. Back then we sold the bare minimum number of street bikes which Yamaha required us to order each year.

I want to top 200 more than just once! Closest I have come is 165 on a bike and 150 (I-30 in the middle of Ft. Worth in the middle of the afternoon) in a Lamborghini.

I went 190 in a Calloway Corvette. It's amazing how like 140-160 seems so fast and when you get over that everything seems smoother and quieter. It's probably just my mind trying not to freak out. It was a C5, would love to drive a Calloway C6. Although it would be about the same as a Zr1. I did get to ride in a 2011 CTS from 21st Century Muscle Cars that had 850 HP the other day. Went down a side street and hammered it. Nasty fast!

I love going fast...in a car. That really takes some gumption to go that fast on a bike.

I had no clue that Ben Spies dad was on here. I should be coming over here more from the THF. Nobody over there except about 2 people pay attention to motorcycle racing.

I'll hopefully be racing CMRA this season so I pay attention to it and root for Spies and Edwards to do well representing Texas.

I'm super excited for when CoA gets done it Austin to go watch there but hopefully will make it to Indy or Laguna this year to see one in person
