The large piece of paper Obama is stepping on is the constitution, the loose dollars are symbolizing the worthlessness of our currency, and I believe the man symbolizes every working American.

For me, the young man on the bench is conveying the hopelessness that many of the young ones coming up now feel. They are watching adults and the world situation and they see futility. I don't think that Obama is meant to symbolize the man himself, but the govenrment in general. Noitice the other presidents standing behind the current one.

The young feeling hopelessness, only if their video games are late from GameFly or they can't connect to Facebook. I know a whole lot of young people, and can only count a few that even care about anything other than themselves. There is an epidemic of narcissism in this country, as is often evident on this site itself. I am a pretty laid back guy, but the amount of laziness and outright impunity for anything worthwhile by young people makes me sick.
Other than that, the painting is great.

If a young person growing up these days blames the government for their failure to launch, then that says more about them than it does the USA. The US is still loaded with opportunity, the potential for education is broader than it has ever been, and success is there for the taking for the young people that want it. The problem is, the culture that has instilled the thought in their minds that I am entitled to a new car when I graduate, an new iPhone, a college education, a $100K job right out of college has been embraced by far too many young folks. It is harder than ever to make it these days, but it is far from futile.

There is an amazing amount of young lazy people under the age of 30. It's disgusting.
but I have a ton of friends with GOOD degrees, $50k+ in student loans and only about 20% of them make more than $10-11 an hour
