Does it take a while for bass to make new structure a place to hang out?

Ive heard of people dropping brush, then going to lunch or hitting another another spot then they return and fish are on. Fouz is right, it takes no time at all.

The speed the fish come to the tops is dependant on type of brush sank, and location. U sink a cedar and in the wrong local u may never have a bass on it at all. Even say seetgum or willow which the fish come to the fastest if put in the wrong local may not get fish. It's not as simple as people think u cant just haphazardly throw brush out and catch fish on em. Put some real thought and planning into it and yes fish will be on it within ours and in it real good within a week.

It is real work, planning, close to the highway byways, on the drop, in deep water (25 to 30 ft.)and time consuming. Investing in a good banding machine is a must and a good buddy with a pontoon boat, that can keep his mouth shut.
The key is to have a good mixture of brush. We use to make up a pile of willows, cane and cedar trees all banded together in a 6ft. tall bundle about 10ft. long. You can carry two of these easily on the deck and put two at each set. We would usually put out 3 new sets each year. This would be our deep water spots from noon to the end of the day.
We were successful in tournaments because we worked to have a topwater bite, first drop bite located and our brush piles for the deep bite. We always new the deep bite would be there so we concentrated on the other two bites while pre-fishing.
