Texas Tournament Zone will be hosting a 2012 team trail and have aligned the entire organization around one mission: To provide the best tournament experience possible.

We're confident that our 2012 schedule will offer all types of anglers, from the seasoned tournament veteran to the weekend warrior, a friendly environment built around the sport we are all so passionate about – bass fishing! TTZ has created our schedule based on three core values:

1. Put our anglers on the best lakes at the optimal times of the season.

2. Provide unmatched payouts in the $150 entry fee range.

3. Always listen to our anglers with open and attentive ears.

In 2012 we will guarantee $3,000 to 1st place(this is the MINIMUM amount and will increase according to the number of teams). Our base payback will be 90% at the ramp with a $150 entry per team ($10 optional Big Bass pot) and $35.00 membership fee per angler.

Our season opener will be on Lake Travis out of Tournament Point on Feb 4, 2012. Lake Travis will be off limits beginning midnight Sunday, Jan 29 until the morning of the tournament. Any questions please call the following:

Brian Booker – (512) 761-2426

Andy Nuyen – (713) 291-4119

Robby Crabb – (512) 269-9585

This was the LSS Central in 2011 and they averaged 64 teams an event. It's run by a great group and has some quality anglers fishing the trail. If you're in Central Texas don't waste your time looking at other trails.

This is the place to fish in 2012. This trail will be pushing 100 teams and there's no better payout anywhere at this price point.

Just FYI to those Bass Catters out there All the TTZ tournaments with the exception of Travis are Quest Sanctioned. Ended up not getting in under the 30 day deadline for Travis, but the rest are good to go. Some nice incentive monies for those registered!

Our next event is March 3 on Lake Austin. Austin has already kicked out three SALS and the fish have not even moved onto beds yet...it'll be a toad fest for sure!

You may register online at ttz1. com or drop by Tracker Marine in Austin (13045 Research Blvd) and sign up in the store. If you sign up at Tracker Marine your name will be put into a drawing for a FREE HydroWave! (Winner will be drawn at the Austin weigh-in)

Entry forms are also available at Fish Finders Marine in Round Rock.

We pay 90% at the ramp and the minimum payback for first place based on 60 teams is $3,000 guaranteed. We drew 81 boats at our last Feb event on Travis and paid $3,500 to the winners. We expect the same or higher turnout for Austin.

$150 per team with an optional $10 Big Bass side pot. $35 membership fee per angler.

Any questions please call:

Brian Booker – (512) 761-2426
Andy Nuyen – (713) 291-4119
Robby Crabb – (512) 269-9585

Lake Austin tournament coming up this Saturday. We'll be out at City park Friday night for a little pre-partying and will have early boat draw beginning around 6:30 pm.

If you can't make the tournament feel free to stop by Friday and say hello, we'll have a grill going and cold beverages on hand.

Come out and fish the premier tournament trail in Central Texas! Great folks, great payout, and great times. You won't find a more competitive trail around that still has the friendly and inviting atmosphere TTZ prides itself on. Come see what all the buzz is about at our next event 4/7/2012 on Lake LBJ.

Well put Brian, this is the fastest growing trail in the $150 range, and to draw 81 and 99 boats in our very first year at our first two events is pretty cool.

This is a trail run 100% by tournament anglers; we don't take ourselves too seriously but put in enough effort to make the tournaments organized and fun. Everyone is welcome to fish with us including guides, Elite Series pros and kids.

Here are a few pics from our last event on Austin; we had four complimentary coolers full of iced down Corona Light, Shiner, Modelo, Coors, Bud Light and Keystone along with complimentary Meyers sausage wraps and My Chihuahua Bites! gourmet salsa on hand for everyone (fishing or not) that came to weigh-in. We also had a complimentary massage station for a little relaxation after a long day on the lake.

Combine all this with a 90% payback at the ramp and a guaranteed minimum 1st place prize at our regular season events and you can only imagine what's in store for our $10,000 two day Championship on Choke Canyon!

Fish Hard, Play Harder!

I have to say the one thing that sticks out in my mind about the TTZ tournies is that fact that they are not as cut-throat as some of the other trails I have fished. Seems people are always willing to talk to you, makes for good times!

LBJ coming up this weekend, April 7, out of LBJ Yacht Club & Marina. We drew 81 boats on Travis (with no public ramps in the water), 99 on Lake Austin and expect LBJ to be the biggest draw this year.

Entry is $150 per team with an optional $10 Big Bass side pot. Here are the top five payouts averaged between the first two events:

1st - $3,600
2nd - $1,750
3rd - $1,200
4th - $825
5th - $700

We'll be camping out Friday evening at Lake LBJ Yacht Club & Marina; early registration and boat # draw will begin at 6 pm.

Online registration is available at ttz1. com

Come on out and meet your tournament directors in a "non-working" environment; we'll have some Maker's, Woodford and plenty of cold beer on hand. We'll also have deer sausage on the grill and plan to boil some crawfish as well.

The Yacht Club & Marina is located at 200 S Wirtz Damn Road, 78657.

Due to potential wind and lake level the Buchanan tournament will be a true trailering event. The fish are biting on Buch and we expect this Saturday will be great fishing for everyone!

We'll be taking registrations Friday night at 6:00 pm at Edgewater and again Saturday morning beginning at 5:00 am. Once you have registered you may trailer and launch from any ramp Saturday morning after 5:00 am; if you registered online or at Fish Finders you do not need to check in at Edgewater Saturday morning.

First cast will be 6:20 am with the last cast at 3:00 pm. You must be checked in at Edgewater by 4:00 pm in order to weigh your fish.

Currently Edgewater, Burnet County and Paradise Point have ramps in the water. The trailering option will make this a safer tournament for our anglers and we hope everyone understands the last minute decision.

Please call Brian, Robby or myself with any questions.
