My number-one choice is scopex.

Is tutti frutti, pineapple and/or scopex a favorite because marketing has told us this? Just a question to debate.

Probally cause alot of fish have fallen to these flavors.

I don't see a lot of carp fishing marketing. I do see a lot of carp fishing buzz.
The buzz is you guys, so I am always willing to give it a go.

I like strawberry because an older gentleman suggested it to me 22 years ago.
I tried it and it worked.

I like tuity fruity because I saw Lester use it and catch more fish than me.
I tried it and it worked.

I like habanero because I just wanted to try something new and it worked. No marketing or buzz.

I like tiger nut favors, because of multiple posts about them.
I tried it and it worked.

I did try scopex after hearing good things about it. But it never worked for me, so I gave up on it.

Is'nt Scopex pretty close to butterscotch?

My 4 best baits are all in the running. In order from morst productive, tutti, chili, pineapple, rosehip. Ive tried alot and those are the best ive come up with.

My most productive flavors are Pineapple, Strawberry, Scopex, and Spicy.

I keep seeing pineapple, but because of my own personal disdain for the vile fruit I refuse to use it.

My take on the marketing theory...

I think we (fishermen) use what we have the most confidence in. I believe that we choose our bait based on what we are comfortable with and what we can get our hands on. The current leaders (Tutti Fruitti, Pineapple, Strawberry, and Chili) are all pallet- pleasing flavors that are readily available. I think Scopex is popular because it is such aN amazing unique smell. Like I said in the recent CAG Forum thread about Scopex- If my wife wore Scopex as a perfume, we'd have more babies.

I was taught to watch and listen, then give it a try. It has worked for me ever since then. If you want to try something new, give it a shot. You may find the holy grail to carp bait one day.
