I wanted to do a bit of a cleaner install than I did on my Tarpon. I had no idea where or how to mount the transducer. Luckily Mark stayed behind for a bit after the tourney last week and offered some suggestions. I took his advice on where to mount the transducer and went with what I think is the best spot for the actual screen. Also gotta thank Chris for putting up the links to the wire covers that he used. I had no idea stuff like that even existed. [smilie=dunno.gif] I still need to secure the wires inside and out, along with securing the battery box. I think a simple strap around the foam pillar and battery box will work fine and that way I can avoid any glueing inside the kayak. Everything is sealed and shouldnt leak any water and overall i think it turned out pretty nicely.
Sorry for the pic quality. It started getting dark and all my lights seemed to have dying batteries.
I lost the ability to use the middle notch to lay down a rod but that wasnt a huge concern for me. The middle two spots seemed to get in the way of my feet so i probably wont use them anyways.
I have plenty of room between the rudder and the transducer when the rudder is deployed.
Rudder at full tilt. No interference with the wire.
Silicone looks ugly but it wont leak and it wont be seen anyways.
I want to change my transducer mount to the way you did it so I can get water temp readings. I have just been nervous about drilling below the water line. I guess just use plenty of marine goop?

Yea I used sealant around the outside of the holes and after tightening it all down I used more on the inside. Make the smallest holes you can get away with. I tried it out this weekend and no leaks whatsoever and the transducer worked great and was protected by the hull. Just remember, measure twice cut once.
